Ensuring student safety

The Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 was created with the intent of putting responsibility on schools to participate in working to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism. With the increased risk of online terrorists’ radicalization of young people, which commonly occurs through social media, schools without advanced web filtering are at risk.

According to the Prevent Duty Guidance, “specified authorities will be expected to ensure children are safe from terrorist and extremist material when accessing the internet in school, by establishing appropriate levels of filtering”. Netsweeper has developed a comprehensive strategy to prevent radicalisation and terrorist content from reaching students and exceeds the requirements of the Prevent Duty Guidance.
